As each day passes, our communities, our country and our world are facing unprecedented challenges to keep our people and our businesses healthy amid COVID-19. This is a time for all of us to show leadership and action to help to make our communities, our workplaces and our families as healthy and safe as possible.
This includes commitment to the basics, expanded use of technologies and adherence to quarantine safety measures. The basics are more than simply maintaining maximum hygiene practices. They also include frequent cleaning and sanitizing, eliminating non-essential travel, avoiding large meetings and full commitment to social distancing.
At Baker Tilly Victoria, we are taking extra precautions to keep staff and our clients safe.
Please note the following changes effective immediately:
In-Person Meetings: We are discouraging face-to-face client meetings and replacing them with other forms of communication such as telephone and email. If you currently have a meeting scheduled, someone from our team will contact you to reschedule using the option that best suits you.
Paper Flow and Other Documentation: To the extent possible, use electronic methods to send your information in to us. Our website (www.btvic.com) allows for:
- Secure uploading of documents, accessible though the Send Tax Info and Client Portal (ShareFile) links.
- Making payments through the Make A Payment link.
If you are not set up in our ShareFile site, or if you are having trouble with passwords, please call the office for assistance.
Drop Off Box: We recognize that some information will need to be dropped off to the office. Our offices continue to be open and documents can be accepted via a drop box which is in the lobby of each of our locations. All information received via the drop box will be set aside for 2 days for quarantine purposes before being reviewed.
Self-Isolate: Finally, adherence to quarantine safety measures is critical. We request our clients who are symptomatic, not feeling well or have had possible exposure to the virus to refrain from entering the office at all. Please use one of the other means to get your documents and information to us. Many of our staff are working from home. Our staff have also been instructed to stay home if feeling unwell. Educating our teams and supporting self-quarantine measures is a must for all of us.
